Msnbc.com, was the first major video provider to provide an embeddable player, allowing users to play videos on their sites.
Finding widespread adoption of the player "off domain," the company is further nurturing the process by allowing its player to be resized so it can fit on Facebook, Charles Tillinghast, president and publisher of msnbc.com told Beet.TV
New Ad Thumbnail "Gallery"
For its video player on the site, the company is about to introduce a scheme to arrange thumbnail images of in-stream advertisement around the player.
He explains that ads which appear for a short time in the player get moved to a sort of thumbnail gallery around the player, allowing users to conveniently find ads without having to watch the video again.
Charlie, president and publisher of msnbc.com, the online venture of Microsoft and NBC Universal, shared these developments in this interview conducted on Tuesday afternoon in midtown Manhattan.
