Video: Reducing Buffering for World Cup Viewers, Conviva Managed 200 Million Video Views

Conviva, a California software company which allows video publishers to micromanage bandwidth speeds delivered to individual consumers, has successfully deployed its technology for several global broadcasters for the World Cup, the company said today.

Conviva managed 200 million video views for 30 million unique viewers for a total of 3 billion viewing minutes.

The company's software was deployed by China's CNTV, Canada's CBC, Univision in the United States and TV2 in Norway.

The company is headed up by Darren Feher, former CTO of NBC Universal.

Meanwhile on Television in the U.S.

Nielsen reports that 112 million households tuned into the World Cup on their television during over the course of the competition. This is up 22 percent over the last World Cup
