SAN FRANCISCO -- While the iPad is elegant, distributing a new type of video file along with formats for other emerging platforms such as HTML5, it could create unexpected costs for the the industry, says Anthony Soohoo, SVP at CBS Interactive in comments during the Beet.TV Online Video Executive Roundtable that took place on Wednesday.

Kara Swisher, co-executive editor of AllThingsD, queried several of the panelists about new devices in this except from the session.

Marc Ruxin, Universal McCann, EVP, Chief Innovation Officer, said that the iPad is too big as a mobile device.  Comcast's SVP Karin Gillford and Brian Buchwald, EVP for NBC Local Media, both see the iPhone and mobile as the most important device development.

Adobe's Jen Taylor, Director, Flash Content Creation + Distribution, says the long anticipated "connected living room" is the most important device trend right now.
