Angela C. Santomero is a Founding Partner and Chief Creative Officer of Out of the Blue Enterprises LLC, overseeing the research and creative development of all of the company’s projects, with a mission and vision to bring educational entertainment to a whole new level. Her innovative approach to children’s television derives from her extensive background in developmental psychology, instructional technology and education.

Ms. Santomero is Creator, Executive Producer, and Head Writer of Super WHY!, the first preschool property that helps build literacy skills through a groundbreaking approach to reading education, classic fairytales with an innovative twist and empowering young heroes. Launched in September 2007 for PBS KIDS to critical acclaim, Super WHY! received a prestigious Ready to Learn Grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the U.S. Department of Education.

Ms. Santomero was also the Co-Creator, Executive Producer and Head Writer for Nick Jr.’s landmark series, Blue’s Clues. Her ability to integrate education, entertainment and active participation helped make Blue’s Clues a breakthrough educational program. She designed and spearheaded the landmark research and curriculum plan for Blue’s Clues, forever changing the way in which preschoolers watch television by presenting them with a unique, challenging program that enables them to learn through play.

Ms. Santomero’s vast accomplishments include leading the production and development of numerous Emmy nominated episodes for Blue’s Clues; a full-length feature called Blue’s Big Musical Movie; educational Blue’s Clues CD-Roms and Blue’s Clues books for Simon & Schuster. In addition, she wrote two Blue’s Clues theatrical productions, which played at Radio City Music Hall in New York City as well as venues across the nation.

Ms. Santomero received a Master’s degree in Child Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University and a B.A. from Catholic University. She has appeared on several high profile and well respected media programs, including NBC’s Today, the Rosie O’Donnell Show and CNN. She was named one of the “Next Wave of Women 2007” by Broadcasting & Cable.
