Anthony Edwards is an acclaimed, multiple award winning actor of stage and screen and beloved by audiences for his performance in a landmark TV series.

He was recently seen in Motherhood starring opposite Uma Thurman and Minnie Driver.

This past summer he wrapped production on Rob Reiner's Flipped, based on a novel by Wendelin Van Draanen. Edwards will star opposite Aidan Quinn, Rebecca De Mornay, Penelope Ann Miller, and John Mahoney. The film is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. on September 17, 2010.

Edwards is best known for his role as Dr. Mark Greene on the hit series ER. For his portrayal of the overworked, but dedicated emergency room doctor, he has received four Emmy nominations (Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series), three Golden Globe Nominations (Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series - Drama), won a Golden Globe Award (Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series - Drama) as well as three Screen Actor's Guild Awards (Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series and Best Ensemble Cast).

Television credits include his recurring role as a hyper-allergic lawyer forced to live in a bubble on the critically acclaimed series Northern Exposure, It Takes Two, opposite Richard Crenna, Patty Duke, and Helen Hunt, Showtime's special Sexual Healing (Cable Ace Best Actor nomination), as well as the telefilms In Cold Blood, El Diablo, Hometown Boy Makes Good, Going for the Gold: The Bill Johnson Story, High School USA, and The Killing of Randy Webster.

Edwards has starred in more than twenty feature films, including his memorable turn as "Goose" in the blockbuster hit Top Gun. Other film credits include David Fincher's Zodiac, the Polish brothers' Northfolk, Thunderbirds, Playing by Heart, The Client, Miracle Mile, Mr. North, Hawks, Pet Sematary II, Delta Heat, Landslide, The Sure Thing, Gotcha, Revenge of the Nerds, Heart Like Wheel, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, which he executive produced in association with his production company. The company also produced the NBC telefilm, Borderline, starring Sherry Stringfeld.

He recently directed the documentary From the Mara to the Marathon. The film follows Ole Kane Lettura, a young Masaai who Anthony met while Lettura was working as a scout for a safari company in the Masaai Mara in western Kenya. The film is the story of Lettura's journey from Kenya to New York to run in the marathon.

Edwards is spearheading a charity initiative with Shoe4Africa (www.shoe4africa.org), whose focus is building the first public children's hospital in Kenya. He also recently ran the NYC Marathon to raise money to support this effort.

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, Edwards is the youngest of five children. He developed his love of acting through his exposure to live theater and by the age of 16 had appeared in dozens of musicals and plays.
