Anthony Vance has been the Director of External Affairs for the Baha’is of the United States since October 2010. Immediately prior to his current assignment, he served four years at the Baha’i World Center in Haifa, Israel as Deputy Secretary-General where he helped manage the Center’s relationships with the host government, the diplomatic community and civil society.

Mr. Vance spent most of his career as a lawyer beginning at the firm of Ropes & Gray in Boston followed by the United States Agency for International Development where he also served as a manager of development programs. Service with USAID included postings in the Ivory Coast (1987-1990), Kenya (1990-1997), Botswana (1997-2000), and Egypt (2000-2006). Mr. Vance holds a J.D., an M.B.A., and B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.
