April Mellody is a communications consultant and former White House spokesperson. She was a Senior Vice President at Robinson, Lerer and Montgomery, a strategic communications firm in New York City. Before that, she was Assistant Press Secretary for the White House (1993-1997). Previously, Ms. Mellody held positions in the Clinton/Gore ’92 Campaign, the Democratic National Committee, the U.S. House of Representatives and W*USA-TV in Washington, DC. She currently provides pro bono communications counsel to non-profits and political campaigns. She lives outside Philadelphia with her husband, Chris Gillespie, and their two children.
