Good Morning America--always a bastion of open-minded racial discourse--has begun to refer to black women in the south as the 'hair salon vote.' They totally saw Beauty Shop with that nice, light skinned heavy woman who calls herself Queen something a couple years back and realized that ladies of that ilk socialize in such places. Then they sent a white woman with the last name 'Snow' to investigate what this means for the 2008 election, but decided to use the term 'hair salon' for the chyron because the other options sounded too 'ethnic.'
