John McCain and His Ideological Housing Problem

Cantinero | Bio

So, which ideological house do you live in? According to the McCain/Palin campaign one is fake and anti-American, the other real and patriotic. Geography is destiny. A friend of mine has a great line. "You're only as good as the worst thing you'll do." In McCain's case there seem to be so many "worst things," but none more so than adopting the tired and divisive ideology of the right. Lincoln's warning of "a house divided cannot stand"? They're willing to tear the house down to win it. It's an ugly strategy, and it's turned out to be a losing one. So in the end its not how many houses John McCain has, it's the ideological house he lives in that looks to be his undoing.

I have a song My House a super catchy ditty taken from my new record Better for the Metaphor, which looks at the perils of rigid ideological dogma. Please take a listen.
