Lehman Brothers is going bankrupt, Wall Street is trying to avoid a complete collapse and I feel partly to blame. I can't help but feel responsible for the economic downturn we're in. After all, I was given my Economic Stimulus Package check months ago. I know I was supposed to go out and buy a plasma TV or maybe a PS3, but I have to come clean--I didn't.

I know it was selfish of me, but I put the money towards my credit card bill. I'm not sure what I was thinking at the time. In all reality, I probably wasn't thinking, I just the saw extra cash in my bank account and was paying my bill and might've just accidentally sent it over. I'm sorry. I honestly didn't think it was a big deal. What's a few hundred dollars after all? I get it now: the trickle up effect. My money was supposed to trickle up somehow and save the financial markets after I bought a fancy new toy, and I blew it.

If I had a time machine, I'd go back and change it, unfortunately I don't. But I do have a plan. A second Economic Stimulus Package, which I will invest entirely in developing said time machine. Upon its completion, I will travel back in time, convince my former self not to use the first Stimulus Package Check so willy-nilly and solve the problem once and for all.

I know there is some risk of the universe destroying itself if I were to accidentally touch my past self, which is why I would be wearing latex gloves and a hockey mask the entire time. I'll never know it was me. Upon returning to the present I will promptly destroy the time machine and all of the research so that the time-stream cannot be altered ever again.

I'm also very sorry if I had anything to do with this. I'm pretty sure I didn't already receive the second Stimulus Check in the future and build the time machine only to change the course of events and accidentally started a possible war with Pakistan, but I can't entirely rule it out.
