The White House announced today that the President will be embarking on a 'round the world farewell tour.
The first stop is Japan. The President is excited because, "They take off their shoes before they go indoorse over there."
The first cancellation of the tour was at the President's request. He does not want to go to Holland because he "doesn't want to catch a wooden shoe in the nether lands."
He is also skipping Italy because, "it looks like a big boot and that makes me nervous."

Dana Perino says that Mr Bush will not be giving anymore time to the White House press corp as they are likely to all throw their shoes at the same time. "They may be a bunch of loafers but if they all come at once I don't know if I could dodge 'em all."

The President also said that he blames Nike for the latest turn in public displays of disgust.
"People are just sittin' there lisnen to me like normal but then they look at their shoes and they think. Man, these are comfortable shoes. I like these Nikes. Then they daydream a bit and start thinkin' "Just Do It" It's almost like the devil makes 'em do it. I know they don't really mean it. It's the media's fault."
Nike admits that encouraging people to throw their shoes away might improve sales of new shoes but anonymous insiders say that if people really want to make a statement in this country they would stay in their shoes when they throw them.

In a related story, the Department of Homeland Insecurity has issued a directive to all airports instructing them to install oversized cardboard images of the Presidents head over a collection bin to encourage passengers to take their shoes off and speed up the screening process.
