The House Is Sort of Sorry About Slavery and Stuff |
The House of Representatives want you to know they're really sad they owned you a while back. So much so that they've apologized!
Yeah! Now everything's okay. Whew. I'm glad they got that off their chest. Things might've gone sour.
But, guys, you should know they really mean it this time. It's not like the past apologies where they crossed their fingers or said, "PSYCHE!" or then owned a slave anyway.
In fact, here's their apology!

We are sorry ( sort of) just not sorry enough to pass that reparations bill. Come on people, it's been a long time now - can you just get over it? Ok so we didn't give you the 40 acres or the mule, but we did give you welfare, the Globetrotters and The Jeffersons. Ya gotta love that theme song - 'moving on up'!
