Golden Globes even more fabulously meaningless than ever!
It's official! Awards season started up last night with Hollywood's second most glamorous affair, the Golden Globes (second only to the Academy Awards, which is sort of like the Princess Diana to the Globes' Camilla). Once again, Hollywood rolled out the red carpet, which this year remained spectacularly free of footprints, as once again we celebrated the best in cinema and television!
None of the stars were out last night, as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association paid tribute to the hard work and artistry of the glitterati. Johnny Depp, pictured below, is just one of the many gorgeous, talented actors who were not in attendance at this notably star-unstudded non-gala affair.

Johnny Depp, somewhere other than the Golden Globes.
Javier Bardem won a Globe for his role as a twisted serial killer in "No Country For Old Men," the latest from the Coen brothers. "I've always dreamed of working with Joel and Ethan, who are truly two of the best filmmakers of their generation," Bardem might have conceivably said in a fabulous post-ceremony interview, had he, like all the honored celebrities, not refused to attend the gala event in solidarity with the striking writers. The prize is Bardem's first Golden Globe, which will sit, sensationally, in a storage facility until his personal assistant can swing by to pick it up.
Heartthrob George Clooney wasn't up to his old tricks, not playing one of his classic pranks this year alongside good friend Brad Pitt. He probably would have, had he been at the ceremony, but he wasn't. Same for Brad.
With other awards going to Daniel Day Lewis, Cate Blanchett, and Tina Feynone of whom were dressed in designer fashions, sipping champagne and partying into the wee hoursit certainly was a night to remember what else was on TV! And with the Academy Awards just over a month away, there's little time for Tinseltown's talented beauties to rest up before it will be time to stay home due to the writers' strike all over again!
