Amy Winehouse can't come to the Grammys: great, another reason to need to get high

2nd UPDATE! Amy "Slag Heap" Winehouse won't be attending or performing at the Grammy Awards this Sunday in L.A. after all. The British retro-soul singer, who's been nominated for six Grammys, lurched over to London's U.S. embassy earlier this week on a day trip from rehab, but her request for a U.S. visa was denied. At the last minute, the State Department reversed its decision, but too late for things to work out.

Slag Heap was initially turned down because of two recent drug-related brushes with the law: London police just grilled her about the infamous crack-smokin' video that landed her in rehab, and her arrested and fined in October 2007 in Norway for marijuana possession.

Amazing that even a special case like Amy Winehouse can flex her celebrity and get her way, considering. We had the unfortunate privilege of reviewing her paperwork.
