Poll: Why isn't the media losing their sh*t over McCain's Pastor friends?
Yesterday John McCain rejected the endorsements he had previously courted from pastors John Hagee and Rod Parsley. Hagee has referred to the Catholic church as "The Great Whore" and said Hitler and the Holocaust were part of God's plan to send Jews back to Israel. Parsley has called Islam "the anti-Christ religion" and said "America was founded in part to see this false religion destroyed." These men were helpful in McCain's victory over Mike Huckabee, but McCain apparently felt that he did not need their assistance to get him through the traditionally slow Memorial Day weekend news cycle.
McCain's association with these Pastors has drawn considerably less attention than did Obama's relationship with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. "News Hounds" points out that Fox News' Neil Cavuto devoted a total of 41 seconds of airtime to the Hagee story, as opposed to at least two weeks of coverage for Rev. Wright. It begs the question, why aren't Hagee and Parsley getting the same round-the-clock coverage as Rev. Wright?:
