Obama inspiration finally finding its way into hip-hop
The rapper Nas launched what is sure to be a trend in Hip-hop last week when he leaked the Barack Obama-inspired track, "Black President," in advance of his new album due out July 15. DJ Green Lantern produced the track, which begins with an audio clip of Obama's St. Paul, Minn., victory speech, and includes loops of Obama shouting "change the world" throughout the song.

The rise of Obama has got to be making hip-hop producers happy. After years of being forced to loop the same old Huey Newton and Malcolm X soundbites into their cuts, Obama has given them a whole new sound library of audio clips. We here at 23/6 have taken some Obama-nitiative, and remixed some classic cuts to sprinkle some Obama-isms into the beat. Sample a few below (NSFW unless you have headphones, explicit lyrics):
Eminem's "Cleanin' Out My Closet"
The NWA classic, "F*ck Tha Police"
Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back"
The Digital Underground hit, "The Humpty Dance"
And we couldn't forget the between-track skits, like this Method Man rant off of Wu Tang Clan's debut
