The Foxes and the Obamas: the hit show of the summer

Jumping the dangerously outside the mainstream Muslim shark.

Those incorrigible wags at Fox—just in the last month we have Fox News contributor Liz Trotta joshing around about an Obama assassination, anchorwoman E. D. Hill calling the Obamas' fist bump a "terrorist fist job," and now Michelle Obama is "Obama's Baby Mama."

In the latest case, Fox has already issued a statement saying that "A producer on the program exercised poor judgment in using this chyron during the segment." Actually, the poor judgment probably began when the producer joined the College Republicans and started reading the National Review.

For those unfamiliar with the term "baby mama," the Wall Street Journal helpfully points out that "the term is often applied pejoratively to unwed mothers." It's just a hunch, but, given the state of the McCain campaign, we're guessing that this won't be the last instance of Fox News exercising classic Fox News judgment over the course of the election.
