GOP facing shortage of help at convention—America's maniacal enthusiasm for John McCain oddly not translating to volunteers

With their elderly candidate floundering in the polls and the national mood souring to their agenda, the Republicans are having a hard time finding volunteers for their convention, taking place September 1-4 in St. Paul. So far they have only 4,000 volunteers out of 10,000 needed.

How can the Republican National Committee encourage people to volunteer at their convention in St. Paul?

Tell them they're free to chant "yes we can" while endorsing Barack Obama.

Promise that this year's convention will be so full of 9/11 references they'll think the towers are falling all over again.

Break the news that John McCain will refuse the nomination, and instead suggest Adam Sandler.

Move the convention out of St. Paul.

Each volunteer will automatically be entered in a raffle to be vice president.

Promote the Rush Limbaugh Kissing Booth.

Complimentary waterboarding with a three-night stay at the St. Paul Radisson.

They don't need to encourage anyone. The shortfall will be made up by illegals.
