Election 2008

There's a new Obama in town, and he is a MFin' badass. Talk to him now!

David Brooks's most recent column, "The Two Obamas," is getting alot of play on right wing radio. He calls the Republicans naive for thinking they're dealing with the high-minded "Dr. Barack." Instead, he identifies the other Obama, the one who declined to participate in public funding as "Fast Eddie Obama." This incarnation of the Senator is, according to Brooks, "a promise-breaking, tough-minded Chicago pol who'd throw you under the truck for votes.

You think you can handle the new badass Obama? He's online right now. Give him a shout.

because obama is the new kid on the block, some have expressed a sort of fear of the unknown. they were somehow unsure as to whether he would step up to the plate, if called upon to do so. so the persona you see when he defends his wife, or when he responds swiftly and calculatingly to lies, smears, and dirt, is not really another persona...but you must understand, he is a very even keeled guy, and a cool head, (which is what we need in the presidential position, right?) and we are not used to him yet, but we've had almost 8 yrs of embarassing, sometimes mortifying, fodder for humore from our current, "guy you'd most like to sit and have a beer with", and that persona, my friends took america down to the depths we will be years struggling back from. we deserve a man with the ability to think, and make good decisions, and one that will work within the framework of our constitution, let's recognize a good man when we see him.
