If you're following the nation's economic collapse on a Blackberry, you've got John McCain to thank. At least for the Blackberry part. According to McCain's chief economic adviser, Douglas Holtz-Eakin, McCain invented the Blackberry. Asked what McCain had done for technology and communications, Holtz-Eakin held up a Blackberry and said "You're looking at the miracle that John McCain helped create."

Of course, McCain also helped create the miracle that is Megan McCain, but you don't see them bragging about that. Apparently what Holtz-Eakin was talking about was McCain's work on various telecommunications bills. Which might be true, except that McCain voted against almost every telecom bill that led to you being able to waste your time checking your email in the bathroom. We will give the McCain camp credit, however, for the fact that McCain is, in fact, "aware of the internet."
