America-fresh out of health care and overstocked on mortgages
What's happening to America? The stock market dropped 700 points and the bailout bill died. Rep. Boehner (R) says the bill didn't pass because Rep. Pelosi (D) gave a partisan speech, and Rep. Frank (D) called the GOP a bunch of babies, which sounds accurate. They're all up for re-election. President Bush and both Senators McCain and Obama are urging Congress to keep trying. But this guy says the bailout is a scam, and he's not even your pissed-off dad or Michael Moore, he's Jeffrey Miron, a Harvard economist who wears smart guy glasses.
Oh God. What do we do, and more important, who do we blame? Take our poll.
