CBS reporter shocked by Obama campaign "plane farts"
This morning, CBSnews.com posted a shocking first-person account of what it's like to travel with the Obama campaign, written by CBS' own Dean Reynolds. Reynolds points out what he calls the "striking" differences between how the Obama and McCain camps each treat the press corps. The Obama people are disorganized, unfriendly and fail to print the candidate's schedule in a satisfactory manner. Also, the plane smells.
Sad, but true. Our own 23/6 reporter, currently embedded with the Obama campaign, has a similar story to tell. Check out Dean Reynolds' astounding account here, then read on for our own cringe-inducing tale.
The liberal media is lying to you.
There, I said it. But it needed to be said. Day after day, the public, hungry for real news about the campaign, is instead forced to sift through countless stories describing the desperation of the McCain camp, the disorganization of the GOP and the dire circumstances surrounding the Republican nominee and his campaign. I'm here to tell you: don't believe the hype. The Obama campaign is in tatters and I've seen it firsthand.
As a young, eager reporter from the rough-and-tumble streets of Greenwich, CT, I was excited to be reassigned to the Obama campaign. I wanted to witness, as my colleague Dean Reynolds puts it, "how the other half lives." Knowing Obama's reputation as a so-called "elitist," I went in expecting a certain kind of treatment. What I found was the ninth circle of Hell.
To begin with, the Obama campaign has the nerve to actually schedule events for their candidate that require complex travel arrangements, and sometimes keep the candidate away from the press for hours at a time. Excuse me, but I have a deadline, not to mention a 4 p.m. tee time, and I simply don't understand why Sen. Obama insists on packing his days with public appearances meant to address Americans' needs, rather than answer leading questions from the people who matter most, we, the press. John McCain seems to have no problem lingering for hours over his Starbucks, with nothing to do and nowhere to go. His staffers make time to be gracious and accommodating, as though they're not even trying to win this thing anymore. Perhaps Sen. Obama could learn a thing or two.
There seems to be an almost palpable disrespect for the news media within the Obama camp; the same news media who have gone out of their way to report every half-truth, misstatement, inappropriate attack and unfounded rumor in the interest of equal time. But is that kind of diligence acknowledged? No. Instead, the press corps gets to sit on a bus while we wait for Obama to finish "campaigning for president." I'm sorry, but I didn't go to journalism school so I could have the privilege of reporting from smack dab in the center of the most exciting presidential campaign ever run. Who wants to witness history when the free bottled water provided by the campaign is merely lukewarm?
And don't even get me started on the Obama campaign plane. Excuse me, but the buckwheat blinis and caviar should be served with crème fraîche, and not sour cream, you barbarians.
I sincerely hope the Obama people learn a thing or two about how to run a presidential campaign. Otherwise, I've got half a mind to go back to Greenwich and have my dad get me a job as a TV development executive.

I suggest that you try the buckwheat blinis served by a Russian Orthodox church in Warren Co, NJ at festivals. The sour cream is wonderful. Try a Greek caviar spread with the blinis. It's getting difficult to get beluga caviar, even if you pay cash. The melt-down has ruined life.
