23% of Texans think Obama is a Muslim, the rest live in Austin

as ANOTHER native texan... dude everyone in this country needs to lay off texas...well, we're sorry that the people with the money in this state paid for some idiot from Conn. to be our gov(a position of very little actual power) for a few years and that he was also able to buy his way into the white house, and the rest of the idiot country kept him in...but seriously, if you live in any of the actual CITIES in texas, that means Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio, then you live in a pocket of intelligence (and i mean IN the city, not in the retard white flight 'burbs) and sorry austin, but you're really just a larger, far away suburb of SA...anywhere else in the state and you're at the mercy of the far religious right, only cause they have the money to keep power, hell if the obama campaign would have sent some easy money to rick noriega we would have a def 60+ seats in the senate...my point is that the people of texas aren't as stupid as the rest of the small states make it seem, it's just that the stupid people here are just that much stupid because the ones with money make 'em seem that way...texas used to be very solid blue, and should be again by 2012 with the right investment, we do, however practice a little different form of liberalism here, i'd like to call it "social-libertarianism" cos we think that gov't should only be involved in areas where it's need...schools, health, infrastucture in gen, not in our bedrooms, our gun racks, or state taxes...so off our backs!!!

As a native Texan, I'd like to point out to all y'all who are clearly misled: Austin is still Texas. Unless you're in the area right around UT's campus, you're still just in Texas, and they are no less embarrassing than the rest of my home state's residents. Austin is NOT San Francisco. It's not even Los Angeles. It's still Texas. Many of them are dumbf*ck rednecks. Word.

This is sad, but true. What do we Texans need to do to turn this state blue? I am tired of all this crap. I need to move.

I live in the Houston area, and I can tell you that the red state rednecks are in full force here. Guns and religion, bubba. You will be hard pressed to find a more narrow-minded bunch anywhere in the country. OK, maybe Arkansas.

as an AZ democrat, i'm glad to report that we in the Grand Canyon state know he's a christian. but, as colin powell state, who cares if he was? are muslims not americans anymore?

Unfortunately there are people here in Austin who believe he's Muslim. Seemingly educated people with college degrees. It would almost take shock therapy for these people to realize the truth. Here's to 8 years of it!

My guess is - sadly - that 72% of my extended family is actually in that 23%.
