If black homophobes are "gaycist," then what are gay racists?
Last week, we chided black voters for voting overwhelming against gay marriage in California. Those hypocrites! How dare they deny civil rights to our colorist! Then, on Saturday, Andrew Sullivan posted a breakdown of the gay vote in the past two presidential races, 2008 and 2004: McCain 27% vs. Bush 23% and Obama 70% vs. Kerry 77%.
So, Obama got less of the gay vote than Kerry, while McCain got more of it than Bush. Those numbers suggest that some gays are as uncomfortable with blacks as nearly all blacks are with gays. Good grief, blacks and gays! This childish back and forth remind us of two seventh graders who have the hots for each other but have to play it cool in front of their friends.
Blacks and gays, gays and blacks... stop voting against each other and get a goddamn room. You already have so much in common!
