Bill Clinton ready to be vetted, ladies

No donation? Fine. Then maybe you'll enjoy a few smart bombs from my wife

The Guardian has reported that Hillary Clinton has been offered the Secretary of State job and accepted. But nobody else seems to believe it -- the U.K. press is traditionally better on what's going up Amy Winehouse's nose than they are on American politics. American news agencies all report that negotiations are ongoing and that the sticking point seems to be the Big Dog himself. The New York Times and Politico both report that Bill is undergoing heavy vetting, otherwise known as "third base." The Times says a "team of rivals lawyers" is currently going through Clinton's business and philanthropic dealing. The problem seems to be that there's not much of a difference between the two.

Meanwhile, Ben Smith reports that the pick isn't too popular in Obamaland.

So maybe this will be Hillary's first project as Secretary of State: before brokering peace between Israel and Palestine, she'll have to negotiate a deal in the even messier war between Obamaland and Clintonland.

If, that is, she ever gets that far. It's hard to believe Bill Clinton could get past the 63 question job application that the Obama people have put out. In fact, he doesn't seem to be taking the process very seriously...
