Nate Silver is more machine than man, now. Yesterday's big projection concerned the Minnesota recount, which Nate projects Franken will win by 27 votes.
27, Nate? Not 26? Not by "a slim margin." But you're predicting it down to the vote?
He's using his can't-fail algorithm to go more and more specific with his stats, and it's starting to get a little creepy. Check below for today's Nate Silver projections from fivethirtyeight.com. Betcha they all come true:
***When Leon Holtzman of Flagstaff, AZ sees a Dunkin Donuts box in the break room this morning, Nate Silver projects an 87% chance that Leon will say "Screw my diet" and go for the bear claw.
***Based on statistics dating back to 1967, today 33 American babies will die of SIDS. Nate knows which babies, but he's not tellin'.
***Matthew Langtry of Tallahassee, FL is going to fart in 5, 4, 3, 2...
***When Mrs. Arnold Carter of Anaheim, CA arrives home from work this evening, Nate says there's a 99% chance that Mr. Arnold Carter is gonna tap that. According to Nate, there's a 40% chance he's going to tap it "Arnie Carter Style."
***The long-shot: There's a .000067% chance that today will be the day when not a single American citizen orders a Cobb salad at lunch.
Check fivethirtyeight.com tomorrow, when Nate will offer his projections concerning whether or not you're ever going to love again (spoiler alert: it ain't lookin' good!).
