Chris Matthews interrupts Black Friday to announce that he won't be interrupting the Senate in 2010
MSNBC's Hardball host Chris Matthews issued a five word statement denying that he's running for Senate: "It is absolutely not true."
On Friday, reports surfaced claiming that Matthews was "staffing up." Matthews, who once worked for former House Speaker Tip O'Neill, is rumored to be eying Arlen Specter's Senate seat. If he does run, Matthews would be taking on the 80 year-old Republican as a Democrat.
As we expect Chris to continue denying this story, we've created a longer, more detailed "I'm not running for Senate" o-tron. Help him choose his words!
Chris Matthews I'm not running for Senate-o-tron
I would like to the rumor that I am running for the Senate.
When I told FiveThirtyEight, "it is absolutely not true," I meant that it's absolutely . Listen, I already have the greatest job in the world, on MSNBC. Yet, this rumor won't go away. I would love to go a day without being asked," Chris, ?" The fact is, I'm .
That said, I would love to represent in the Senate one day. Maybe I'll wait until Arlen Specter .
Now, as I always say, ""
Matthews
