The Rod Blagojevich -- it was the greatest thing ever! For two days. And now? Now we're tired of it. At least the Republican scandals involved closeted gay sex. Maybe it'll come out that Blagojevich and Fitzgerald are having an affair. Hey, we can dream, can't we? But even though the initial burst of newsfatuation is over and the scandal is now in the long slog stage, it's still going to be a topic of conversation at your office holiday party. But given that pretty much everybody is going to be laid off soon, what you really want to do at these parties is finally sleep with your co-worker or steal the good office furniture before someone else does (note: Aeron chairs really seem to keep their resale value).

So to help you go through the motions while you keep your eye on the prize, here's nine lines to help you bs your way through a Blagojevich conversation...

WHAT TO SAY ABOUT THE BLAGOJEVICH

• How'd that guy get elected -- I can't even pronounce the dude's name!

• His wife seems like a bad ass -- I mean a "blad ass!"

• When I saw what he was wearing I was all like, "he looks like he's on CSI or something!"

• A senate seat for $500,000? Hey, I'm not buying anything that's not on sale in this economy.

• What he should be indicted for is that hair, am I right?

• That Fitzgerald guy is like a superhero or something.

• Yeah, I was reading about that today -- in the blagosphere.

• I sure hope it doesn't taint Obama. By the way, would you like to see my taint? (after three or more drinks only).

• Anyone see the Tom Cruise Nazi movie?
