"Comforter-in-chief" probably doesn't mention faulty intelligence in letters to grieving families
President Bush has written a personal letters to the families of each of the over 4000 troops who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. The grim task has taken up much of his personal time, but the President, who calls himself "comforter-in-chief," believes that is part of the job:
![]() | It is my duty to be - to try to comfort as best as I humanly can a loved one who is in anguish.![]() |
Well, seeing as how the Iraq war was the result of faulty intelligence and the Afghanistan war was neglected thanks to that Iraq war, writing that letter has got to be awkward to say the least. Let's help the President write his next one:
I am sorry that your lost his/her life in the War. I believe that history will prove that he/she die in vain. Rest assured, the sacrifice of your loved one has made America again. And believe me, the decision to go to war was . Every day, I pray for guidance from my God, , for without Him, nothing is possible.
Laura and I understand the pain of losing . Your loved one is foremost in my
Love,
Bush
