Poll: How hilarious is that "Barack The Magic Negro" song parody?

A guy who could make Dr. Demento feel dirty.

There's a hilarious song parody that's sweeping the nation. It's called "Barack the Magic Negro," sung to the tune of "Puff The Magic Dragon," and it's all about how whites voted Obama to ease their white guilt. One line of the song goes, "Barack the Magic Negro/Made guilty whites feel good/They'll vote for him and not for me/Cause he's not from the 'hood." It's supposedly sung from the point of view of an Al Sharpton type, a black politician who feels left out because he is more racially confrontational than Obama. So you see, it's about the black experience!

It came out of that hotbed of cutting edge comedy, "The Rush Limbaugh Show," and normally when we hear that Rush is airing a new comedy bit we sprint to the radio to get our laugh on. But this one has gone over the line for a lot of people. Chip Saltzman, a candidate for GOP party chairman, sent the parody around and drew "mixed reviews" from many inside and outside his party. Saltzman argued that it should be taken in good humor, while Newt Gingrich called it inappropriate and racist. What do you think? Just how hilarious is this song parody?

The Barack the Magic Negro song parody has received mixed reviews. How hilarious do you think it is?
Mixed reviews? Did some of them find it reprehensible while others thought it was "f**king reprehensible?"
My fiance and I have been looking for a first song for our wedding. It's either this or "One in a Million" by G n' R.
As a professional magician who is also extremely racist, I found the use of the term "magic" to be inappropriate. Aside from that, awesome.
Look, there's just no better way to address the concerns of marginalized civil rights leaders than through the universally respected art of racist song parody.
Limbaugh, you've done it again you obese, pill-popping imbecile!

This is not an isolated incident for the GOP---remember that fake food stamp with Obama surrounded by watermelon, ribs, KFC, and kool aid?

Let me refresh your memory. Behold this specimen of Kooky Konservative Komedy:

Yes, this was a GOP mailing for the 2008 campaign. As you can see, judging from the election results of '08, this tactic really worked out for them.

Funny! I would like to hear Joe the Plumber sing the song too. A album with all the GOP stars taking turns singing it. Now that would be entertaining.
Yes, the song's been around for months. No, it still isn't okay. Rush makes big big money to be outrageous. He's a Howard Stern, not a Dan Rather.

Here's some ideas for new "funny" songs, also sung to the same tune:

Chip the Smirking White Guy
Rush the Right Wing Blabber
W the Nepotic Puppet
Rove the Leverage Planner
Gonzo the Justice Lackey

conservatoids are famously unfunny. if this was supposed to be a parody even a moron would find this lacking.

Ahhh Enlightment is an amazing thing. The title of the song is actually from an op ed piece in, Guesses anyone? Yes that hot bed of racism The LA Times by a writer named David Ehrenstein. The concept of the "magic negro" is a construct of the left and is being made fun of by Mr. Shanklin.
THe song paradoy has been around for over 20 months. originally being heard on Rush's show in March of 07.

I realize you are just spitting out Fox talking points, but the article in the LA Times was pointing out the insipid idea of the "Magic Negro" that has been perpetuated by whites in Hollywood and literature since the abolition of slavery. He was not suggesting that PE Obama was a Magic Negro. He was presenting a well thought out argument of its absurdity. I understand that is far too much for your little brain to understand, so just nod your head pretend it makes sense to you.
