RSSHonorable Senator Taint to be seated
Harry Reid got served.
Senators Harry Reid and Dick Durbin have apparently confirmed that Roland Burris will be sworn into the United States Senate in a joint statement released today:
"He is now the senator-designate from Illinois and, as such, will be accorded all the rights and privileges of a senator-elect."
So the standoff between Reid and Senate seat-salesman Rod Blagojevich has ended and now Reid is the proud owner of an appointed Democrat who probably can't win that seat when he runs for it in 2010. The congratulations cards to Roland Burris are pouring in:
