Obama taking attention away from where it belongs: the White House press corps

Worse than Republicans.

In case you were worried that the press was gonna give Obama a free ride, you can rest easy: they're already all up in Obama's face. So what are they mad about? Not enough information about the bailout? Being restricted from showing what's really going on in Iraq and Afghanistan? No, who care about those things -- this was about something important: they were shut out of the second swearing-in. Actually, they weren't even shut out -- only the TV reporters were shut out, as four print reporters were on hand to witness it. But that didn't stop the press from devoting nearly half of the Robert Gibbs' first press conference to the exciting details of the second swearing in.

But according to Politico, there is "growing media frustration" with Obama. CNN's crack reporter Ed Henry was especially angry: "It is ironic, the same day that the president is talking about transparency, we were not let in." Because, you know, if it's not on TV, and the TV reporters aren't there to come on right after and tell you what you've just seen -- and end with some cutesy insightful toss like "The Obama team 'swears' this will be the last one. Back to you Wolf" -- it didn't actually happen.

Thank God the press is going to be there to keep the Obama team honest and focused on what's really important. Like the second swearing in. But that's not all that's angered them so far. Here's the breakdown of what's making the press breakdown...

I just want to point out that Governor Bagel is squealing like a little pig. But that's okay, he's just another white douchebag.

Obama, that douchebag, didn't use a Bible when he was sworn in for the second time. He didn't want the liberal drive-by media there because they would have howled with laughter and made comments like, "Hey Barry, why not use Das Kapital*?"
*That was before Monopoly (trademark), of course.

Someone please add Ed Henry to a new "Special Dickipedia" - for those who would insult the dicks in the original Dickipedia.

WTF is wrong with CNN. They kiss ass sometimes, Ed pretends he's trying out for a role in Weird Science and is ANNOYING! Ed, dude...stfu!

I know he's new but did he actually take journalism? Note: Bush has left the building! Obama hasn't been in office long enough for you idiots to pretend to be smarter than he is...and that will never happen anyway.

Back off or Rahm will start answering your lame ass questions!

Wouldn't a Blagojevich angle have made this story just a little more wondrous? Perhaps the press is miffed because it's in bed with the Governor. Who wouldn't fuckin' want that?

"The heart and soul of this has been a struggle of me against the system." The opportunities are really endless.

Where was all of this outrage and advocacy during the past eight years?

Eh?

it was repressed by an overwhelming feeling of intellectual empathy... no one wanted to challenge bush on the tough issues 'cause it would be like beating up a kid with aspergers..
