Chris Matthews is probably not leaving MSNBC as originally speculated. Oh well. We're sure you agree that Congress's loss is our gain. Enjoy this one-minute compilation of every Chris Matthews interview from Hardball last week.
Can you imagine this on the Senate floor? Can you? Can you? CAN YOU?

MSNBC late night talk show monologue would be the only right place for him. The US Senate with Chris Matthews? You kidding me ?!! ... come to think of it, he would be the perfect party hatchet man in the Senate for conducting a one-man filibuster for 36 hours non-stop!

Mathhews is like the American version of Jeremy Paxman in the UK. (I'm Irish so you understand my reference points)
Mathhews isn't always like that and he does have an intelligent voice to bring to the issues. His style might be loquacious, but, for the majority of the time, it isn't filler in the style of Joe Scarborough - who talks incessantly about nothing in particular and spends a lot of time, on air, question political motive, a thing Matthews has said numerous times, that he doesn't do; and for good reason.
I know Matthews is a chauvinist the odd time and is very brash, but that kind of journalism is needed in an increasingly 'cronyist' news realm. I'm including Olbermann's lack of confrontation in that.
Fair enough, you might argue Olbermann's style isn't confrontational, and he shouldn't have to; that's fine, because that's where people like Matthews come in.
It's the same with Paxman here.
