I'm confused. Back in 2004, the president rejected the idea of raising taxes on gasoline to help fund highway projects, predicting that higher gas prices "would be damaging to the economy." But the price of gas has soared from $1.47 a gallon when Bush took office to $2.59 a gallon today -- and the economy is doing rather well. What gives?
