Scott Moore joined Yahoo! in May 2005 as vice president of content operations within the Yahoo! media group. In this role, he oversees several of Yahoo!’s news and information media services, including Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Finance, and the expansion of Yahoo!’s technology information services. Moore is based in Yahoo!’s Santa Monica offices.



Moore joined Yahoo! from Microsoft Corporation’s MSN division, where he most recently served as general manager of the MSN programming group. In this capacity he managed editorial, design and product development for four publishing teams, including MSN Channels, MSNBC.com, MSN Video and MSN Autos. In addition, Moore concurrently served as president of MSNBC.com, an Internet news joint venture of Microsoft and NBC Universal.



Prior to these roles, Moore served as publisher of Slate, the leading Internet magazine sold by Microsoft to the Washington Post. In this capacity Moore oversaw all functional areas including product development, brand, marketing, distribution, advertising sales, and business development. During his tenure Moore also worked with National Public Radio to create the national daily radio program Day to Day, a production of NPR West and Slate.



Moore has also held positions as advertising manager for Expedia Travel, director of advertising and business development for MSNBC.com, and business development manager for Sidewalk.



Moore holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Washington and a bachelor of arts in visual and environmental studies from Harvard University. He is also a past member of the board of directors for the Online Publishers Association, an industry trade organization.
