More 2011 HuffPost Game Changers: Culture, Business/Technology, and Sports

Posted: 10/05/11 11:42 AM ET

Time for the next round of HuffPost's 2011 Game Changers -- the innovators, mavericks, visionaries, and leaders who are changing the way we look at the world and the way we live in it.

So far we've announced our choices in Green, Politics, Media, Style, Food/Travel, and Entertainment.

The current leaders are Green: environmentalist (and Vampire Diaries star) Ian Somerhalder. Politics: Planned Parenthood's Cecile Richards. Media: Al Jazeera. Style: gender-bending model Andrej Pejic. Food/Travel: HomeAway co-founder Brian Sharples. Entertainment: chart topping singer-songwriter Adele.

Voting remains open in all categories, so be sure to weigh in.

Today we are announcing the top Game Changers in three more categories: Culture, Business/Technology, and Sports. Look over the slideshows we've put together giving you the rundown of who we picked, why we picked them, and how they are changing the game. Then vote for the Ultimate Game Changer in each category.

Click here to vote for the Ultimate Game Changer in Culture, here for the Ultimate Game Changer in Business/Technology, and here for the Ultimate Game Changer in Sports.

Once all 12 categories have been presented, we'll announce our Ultimate Game Changers. We'll also announce which of you has won a trip to New York to party with our Game Changers (get all the details here).

So cast your vote: here for Culture, here for Business/Technology, here for Sports, here for Style, here for Food/Travel, here for Entertainment, here for Green, here for Media, and here for Politics.

Why is it in our culture we always have to have a winner, or #1. This isn't a race that measured in seconds, or a competitive game that has points. Why not just give them all a Gold Star.

In light of Steve Jobs, you might want to take another look at what you call an innovator or a game changer!!!! Steve Jobs fits that bill.... That is was a true innovator and game changer is!

Not the likes of any sort of Kardashian.

Arianna, you're the biggest game changer of them all ! All categories. What the world needs. NOW.

Kim Kardashian a game changer? LOL.

Yes, because the "How hot can you be?" commercial was so prolific. Amirite?

wow...great change advocacy, arianna !! In respect for the "wall" between professional journalism and government, I won't ask you to seek office in the Executive, Judicial, or Legislative branch of federal government ... perhaps you can "influence" more as a journalist since government seems locked on a chain gang that has been pushed over a cliff .... we can't seek change from them, we must compel change in spite of/around them ... but who will have the necessary sceptre of power with which to make the change ? suggestions ... could be left as whispers in the wilderness, effecting nothing .... unless.... how about starting a new independent party, no funding = no corrupt influence, a list of candidates for US senators, representatives, judges, pres/vice-pres, ... ?

The Wall Street protestors a finally getting mainstream media attention. The movement is growing and spreading across the nation. This is a real movement as opposed to the astro-turf billionaire funded Tea Party. F&F.

Kim K???? Are you kidding me!!! I coach my daughters softball team and my son's football team. I am not a big "game changer" for our country, but my small contribution to my community by coaching kids is a bigger game changer than Kim K has made for the entire country!

You are. Real change begins with all of us participating to make this a better society. Thank you for coaching your children's teams. With cut backs everywhere - volunteerism is important. You are a role model for these kids.

Seriously if you have engaged in any act of charity or kindness you are more of a game changer than some of these people...

perhaps remembering that survival of our fellow humans is not a game is winning the game.

yes yes yes ... read marcel mauss "The Gift" ...tiny little book from 19th c. social anthropologist which explains reciprocity is the essence of social exchange in a society..."money" is only a disconnected-from-humanity metaphorical representation of that reciprocity ...

I am just shocked, shocked I tell you that Bagdad Debbie isn't a game changer. After all she declared just yesterday that our economy has turned the corner once again for the better.

We are but one mind and one body. Some have it and some don't, that life. Why do we have to cradle the lucking one's. Lets give credit where credit is do. To the people that don't get the luck and talent that life dishes out, lets talk about them. Because they are the only ones that can make more enjoyable. Why don't you put 10 people up there that have little or no talent, that are not lucky in the realm of life but work their_damn butts off to make a half decent life for themselves and their family and contribute to the country wither it's in the community or in a uniform.
