From the beginning, HuffPost has worked to bring our users the most dynamic mix of breaking news and opinion possible -- and to use the latest technology available to improve the user experience, and to bring you more of what you come here for.

With this goal in mind, we are rolling out a number of new features that will continue to make HuffPost a go-to web destination for up-to-the-minute news and fresh takes on the stories everyone is talking about.

For starters, we know that our readers have always loved the rapid updates on HuffPost's front page, so we've switched over to an Ajax interface that lets our stories and images load faster -- making the site more vibrant, and the updates more seamless. No more clicking and waiting for the site to refresh; the latest news stories, blog posts, and comments now automatically appear on the page.

We've also upgraded our Quick Read feature, which allows you to get the gist of a story without clicking to a new page. Now, when you open a Quick Read box, you are also shown four other stories that your fellow HuffPost readers have been drawn to -- and you can rapidly check out each of those stories without ever leaving the Quick Read box you initially opened. If you've never used the Quick Read feature, give it a try.

HuffPost's upgraded Quick Read feature

And we've added a "Most Popular on HuffPost" feature on the right hand side of every section's home page that allows you, at a glance, to see the hottest stories and blog posts from the last few days. It's continually updated and showcases a rotation of the top 12 HuffPost pieces at any given moment. And if you have your own blog site, you can add our Most Popular widget to it.

Of course, since these changes have been made with you in mind, we want to hear what you think of them -- good and bad. Let us know by sending an email to updates@huffingtonpost.com.

Thanks again for reading, posting, talking back, and being such an integral part of what we do. And if you haven't made HuffPost your home page, you can do so by clicking here.

More of what we come here for uh? Actually it takes so long for pages to come up, (if they actually come up at all) that I usually must give up before I get what I came here for.

Your IT department has you completely snowed Arianna! Most of the ex-readers of Huffingtonpostthat I've communicated with cannot navigate your pages.
You've taken away one of my greatest joys, coming to your site to keep up-to-date on the world and share views with others.
Now, everything stalls out, and I'm an IT specialist with workarounds for everything, working on the latest version Internet Explorer and I give up in frustration.

Sometimes "more is not better".
Please go back to the Huffingtonpost of a year ago so your fans can actually access your site.

The Post has indeed been a voice of reason amongst the flotsam and jetsom of Internet discourse.
Too often a blogsite will disolve into several pages of "You're wrong, no YOU'RE wrong", nonsense.
HP, with some notable exeptions, usually contains entries at least based in some form of logic.
If there was anything I'd like to see changed, it is perhaps an awareness that major news sources often miss what is going on behind the scenes, in particular with regards to our own Congress.
In recent weeks, legislation has passed which
extended Nafta into Peru, allowed government money to be used to prevent "radicalism" in the US, and placed YOUR national guard under the Department of Defense.
Wexler has recieved over 100 thousand signatures on a petition to send impeachment articles to the floor, and a vote to end the war was supported by only 23 Democrats in the Senate.
I realize that it is important to gage our future President on moral fiber, for want of a better term, but it is also important to observe their actual actions in real siduations.
Out of six candidates currently serving in the US Congress, only one voted on the Nafta extention into Peru, legislation that was considered a bellwether for future fast-tracked trade deals.
You get two guesses who that was.
So if possible, amongst the name calling and religious differences, and who's kid killed what dog in what manner, that someone keeps their eye on what the government is doing, today, everyday, and gives us a bit of discussion over CURRENT events,
I would find that a great improvement.

Is there any reason this story has been buried below the 4 above it, despite being newer and having more comments?

Possibly because it might be something HuffPo doesn't want to draw attention to?

It would be great if the comments format was numerical. It takes forever to find previous posts and their replies. A numerical format would solve that aggravating search.

Its to bad that the candidate can't come here and read our feelings, and thoughts, they act like we don't exist, I want to know why Lobbyists money is behind the candidates direction? Or lack of backbone? Am i missing something? Don't we elect these people? Why are lobbyists "Donations" not illegal bribes? If I try to buy your vote its a crime, but, lobbyists can do it legally? And is there any way candidates think we don't know where the money comes from? The Huffington Post has done a lot towards letting public opinion get out into the open, Take a poll to see who these "informed" people believe in,or mistrust the most.

always loved the rapid updates on HuffPost's front page, so we've switched over to an Ajax interface that

Uh huh......and it now takes me 3-6 tries to get the webpage to load.

I keep getting a popup that says "Internet explorer can not open this page"

Only happens with you and the Washington Post.

What in the hell progamming are you people using????

(Oh - and as someone who has been a member since the inception, LOSE THE STUPID CELEBRITY AND THEIR ESCPADES - sexual and otherwise- JUNK

Turning into more like the National Enquirer and less like a serious news site.

I'd like to ad my vote to those not happy with the hollywood crap and the complete avoidance of anything related to Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel.

No mention of the destruction of public housing in New Orleans nor the fight of the people in that city.

If this is supposed to be a progressive site I would think New Orleans would be more important than 16 year old mothers to be. I can't believe you gave that space here.

To tell you the truth I've been wondering if the site has been clandestinely sold to CNN.

Arianna

The readers made very critical points here and I hope that you consider them seriously. If you continue with the Huff Fluff and silencing of news events such as Dennis Kucinich's tireless effort to impeach members of the current administration, you will "entertain" the low brow readers with your political and hollywood tabloid information.

I'm not happy with what I am seeing. There is more and more "show biz" crap and information that is not relevant to progressives. I guess in your quest for added readership, you are including stuff that is popular, but not relevant. To me what the View is talking about or which Spears girl is pregnant is not nearly as important or interesting as Congressman Wexler's drive to impeach or insightful articles on the stance and platform of the leading presidential election candidates.
Knock off the gossip crap. Get real articles. I miss the Huffit section where I felt like a participant, not subject to the whim of some "pundit" who is "improving readership"...

Arianna, I have been with you from day one, but, I too, have some suggestions. I would like the front page to give me important news, national and international. Give me also the dollar currency rate vs. the euro and the stock market update. I would not need to go to Bloomberg, Buzzflash, BBC etc. for my major news fix. Please cut out the sensational garbage about celebrities. This is turning me off and I am visiting less and less. I like your blog more when it first started and then you made some changes, More is not always better. Go back to the way it was.

Strangetorpedo is right: can we PLEASE have a filter to get rid of the "Huff Fluff" please?? I log on every day, and I don't need to see that crap about Witney, Britney or the salacious twaddle that clutters up an otherwise important source.
thank you

It's gratifying to read so many comments protesting the Huffington Post's descent into the ethics and style of supermarket tabloids and for the apparent lack of standards of common decency in moderating reader comments.

I've appreciated the occasional thoughtful pieces on this web site and the civility of many readers in their feedback. But the sleazey tabloid approach in so many articles, misleading headlines, and bias in the use of photos disgusted me so much that I stopped posting comments at this site until I saw this opportunity to join others in expressing my opinion of the trash.

If the Huffington Post chooses not to eliminate the most offensive stuff I fear the site will lose credibility overall.

.
The "Quick Read" preview is a really effective use of Ajax's terrific usability enhancements; and "Most Popular on HuffPost" is an excellent addition.. Just my take.
