It’s great to be home -- for all kinds of reasons: sleeping in my own bed, eating home cooked food, catching up with friends face-to-face instead of via e-mail and transatlantic phone connections. And, of course, the chance to resume my Sunday ritual of doing yoga while watching Meet the Press (Thanks again to Harry Shearer for taking the Russert Watch wheel in my absence. He did a terrific job holding Tim’s feet to the fire -- especially about his ongoing refusal to come clean about his involvement in Plamegate).
This Sunday’s show will focus on Iraq (good start) and feature interviews with Zalmay Khalizad, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq and Joe Biden, the ranking Dem on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. This will be followed by a political roundtable featuring Russert, E.J. Dionne and Byron York discussing Iraq, John Roberts, and what the MTP website calls “the big news in New York politics: a new challenger for Sen. Hillary Clinton.” Hmm… do I smell tea leaves being steeped in preparation for a little Sunday morning prediction session?
Well, I’ll be watching… and contorting… and reporting. See you Sunday.
