This week, President Obama and Mitch McConnell played "Let's Make A Deal" on the Bush tax cuts, but House Democrats aren't sure "The Price Is Right" and passed a non-binding resolution opposing the bargain -- putting its passage in "Jeopardy!". When it comes to gays in the military, the Pentagon thinks it's best "To Tell The Truth," but the Senate refused to repeal DADT, preferring the "I've Got A Secret" status quo. Meanwhile, in the latest episode of "Tattletales," Julian Assange was arrested in a bizarre case involving "sex by surprise" and having sex with a broken condom -- which certainly puts a whole other spin on the concept of WikiLeaks. Where is Bert Convy when you need him? Elsewhere, I tried to sell Conan on the concept of trading "Casual Fridays" for "Jeggings Fridays."

Nice roundup. I think it's very dramatic, but what's new about news? You should make a "Good news" section so people can find news that make them happy. Most are angry and react based on their emotions. Happiness can solve many problems, don't you think?
Sounds serious.... Smile :-)

Mr. President,
No amount of spin
can convince us that
the Bush-Obama Tax Bill
is a win.
It jeopardizes Social Security, it does not
help "99ers",
it encourages accumulation of wealth in a few hands.
It is all together a bad,
very bad bill.
No amount of spin,
Mr. President,
will convince a reasonable person otherwise.
yet to make a significant deal with those who brought him to The White House ... those
whose homes are in foreclosure ... and those who are unemployed.
Welcome aboard.
You now have one fan.
The defense budget alone is going to cost 760 BILLION DOLLARS, up from 400 billion just three years ago; and they wonder why we have a deficit and decide that tax breaks are the way to fix it.
And the icing on the cake? In the middle of this great debate over WHY we're in debt, the President's own commission is blaming it all on out of control social spending. Please!
The simple fact is that we have a huge national debt because of loss of revenue, massive defense spending, playing policeman to the world, supporting corrupt foreign governments, tax "incentives" for corporations, uncollected oil and mineral royalties, uncollected "sheltered" taxes, agricultural supports and policies that favor the top one third of one percent of Americans, and NOT because Grandpa thinks he should have a decent retirement where he doesn't have to live on cat food.
When are we going to find politicians willing to make the hard choices in FAVOR of the American people and stop making these dog and pony show deals?
When is either party going to get serious about fiscal responsibility?
I just don't know any that are left enough - not even Howard Dean is left enough in my book.
How ironic that the Right has been able to activate their base by claiming this President is some left wing radical socialist when his entire staff is nothing but investment bankers and Washington insiders.
