In my new book, Right Is Wrong, I show how the lunatic fringe of the right has hijacked the media (along with our democracy) -- not via FoxNews and the blowhards of talk radio, but through the complicity of high-profile enablers in the mainstream media. This week's disgraceful debate on ABC was further evidence. The slime parade was straight out of the Rovian playbook. For much of the night, I wasn't sure if I was watching Gibson and Stephanopoulos or O'Reilly and Hannity. In fact, Stephanopoulos' ludicrous question about 60s radical Bill Ayers had been suggested to him by Hannity the day before the debate on Hannity's radio show. After Hannity made his Ayers pitch, Stephanopoulos revealed the hijacking in process, saying: "I'm taking notes right now." And indeed he was.

It is the cabal called the GOP. Remember the boast by Cheney.. "we create reality". This what he meant, by repeating a talking point enough times it becomes "reality". We all can see the problem, but how can it be fixed.

You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. I'm just hoping that that veil will be shattered by masses of voters who are seeing through the veil of illusion to the emptiness (and lack of clothes) behind it. The very fact that there's a fairy tale that this policy emulates tells us what an aspect of human nature this is -- and how ultimately transparent (pardon the pun). This is beginning to look like the long road back to sanity. And it's going to take the kind of participation and responsibility BO is suggesting is the key to forcing Washington to its knees. Game's over if no one's left to play.

Boycott of MSM is the only thing that will work.

An aside...

Arianna...love you, but you have to lighten up on the banning.

HopeGirl, HP is part of the mix & is an element of MSM. If you say boycott the traditional MSM, I can go along with that but I'll continue using HP.

So sad. They didn't ask him if he needed a pillow. They did not ask him what he had for breakfast. Of couurse, he is applying for the most powerful job in the world. Is he up to it? Clearly not. He has no experience, no stamina, no knowledge and no character to be President. He associates with shady characters, his pastor is a disaster, his wife hates America, and he is crying about one or two tough questions. You Hufpost sheep, know nothing exept the losing row of Carter,Dukakis,Gore and Kerry.
Just a question: Who was the last Dem Pres to be reelected?
