Ariela M. Migdal is a Staff Attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union Women's Rights Project. The ACLU Women's Rights Project, founded in 1972 by Ruth Bader Ginsburg and based in the national ACLU’s New York office, has been a leader in the legal battles to ensure women’s full equality in American society and focuses on violence against women, women and employment, equal educational opportunities, and women and the criminal justice system. At the ACLU Women's Rights Project, Ariela Migdal does litigation and advocacy on a variety of issues, including sexual violence against women on campus, infringements on women's religious freedom, employment, and prosecutions of pregnant women. Ms. Migdal received an A.B. from Harvard College, an M.A. in Social Anthropology from London University's School of Oriental and African Studies, and a J.D. from New York University School of Law. She clerked for Judge Harry T. Edwards at the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and for Justice Stephen G. Breyer at the United States Supreme Court. She has also worked for the Israel Public Defender's Nazareth Office.
