Ashley Bommer is Chief of Staff to Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, Vice Chairman of Perseus, a leading private equity firm. During the Clinton Administration, she served at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations and at the U.S. Department of State.

Ashley is a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations. She was selected as a Carnegie Council Young Leader for 2005-2007, a Columbia University Next Generation Fellow for 2006-2007, and a founding member of the International Women's Health Coalition Leadership Council.

Her op-ed articles have appeared in the International Herald Tribune, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, The Guardian, The Scotsman, Japan Times, Pakistan Daily Times, Project Syndicate, Carnegie Council's Online Journal, and numerous foreign policy websites and blogs. The House Committee on Foreign Affairs presented her writings on the Pakistan –Afghanistan border. She just completed her first novel which takes place in the tribal areas.

She was born in Sacramento, California and now lives in New York City.
