Klout's Most Influential Celebrity Chefs on Twitter

Posted: 03/10/11 04:08 PM ET

Celebrity chefs have gone from cuisine masterminds to self-branded superstars. Food channels not only attract moms on a mission to find a new recipe but people like me, a twenty-something, who finds discovering new foods entertaining. So I wanted to put celebrity superstars to the test to by seeing how they are branding themselves in the social media world.

Using the Klout score, I have found the most influential celebrity chefs out there. Klout measures influence across the social web, not just looking at follower count, but the ability to engage and drive action. The Klout Score measures influence on a scale of 1 to 100, with higher scores representing a wider and stronger sphere of influence.

So who's the king or queen of the food chain? You just might be surprised to see some new rising stars.

The current top three are my 3 biggest chef crushes...Bourdain, Oliver, and Colicchio. Yum.

Well, who really cares about tweeting. However, Bourdain has by far got the coolest show, writing, honest and swarmy/sarcastic personality and commentary, that never leaves one bored, and exposes us to the cultures and social issues that we might not see otherwise. He is not a complete sell-out, which to me is a plus, and he is appears to be quite human; not afraid to show his character - good or bad, or share his flaws, which makes him very relate-able, and gains my respect. His self-deprecation is a good trait and his long-time crew has evolved and does great camera work and editing. Are some of the others on this list good or great? Sure. But Tony is in a class of his own. Thank you for keeping it real Mr. Bourdain.

Bourdain is great. They only thing that disturbed me last year was the shots of the credit card that were inserted.

i've moved on - he is all about pork - yea............he will put anything in this mouth - yea.............on every episode that takes place in a remote area his mantra is "poor people have learned how to prepare the
scraps well" - yea.............every culture begins and ends around the cooking pot - yea..............there is
nothing new for him to say.

Zimmern taking top spot isn't surprising to me. He just has access to knowledge and knows how to keep it so that he can share it with others. Which he also enjoys doing. Twitter is the perfect venue for him to really showcase his knowledge base. People like to learn things. Andrew has plenty upstairs for YEARS of tweeting. I just think people find his personality....I dunno....nerdy or geeky.

Then there's Tony....
01:48 AM on 03/11/2011
Anthony is King.
There are cooks and chefs.....and then there's Anthony.
Anthony discovers the food below the radaar. The secrets and culture that you can only
attain if you have immersed yourself within their environment, homes, basement pubs,
homes, etc, etc. And only when you have laughed with them...drank with them...and sang with
"them" can the real honest to goodness "flavours" of the people come pouring on your plate.
Anthony knows this and lives his life to discover this.

BTW, some of these aren't "chefs" (and don't even call themselves one)...maybe just call them "food celebrities" instead.

Yeah, last time i checked Anthony Bourdain hasn't worked in a restaurant in well over a decade.

Also who are most of the people on that list, maybe they should say 'in america' because most of them, completely unknown outside the US.

Where is Eric Ripert best chef of the best restaurant in NYC if not the USA, great Twitterer, great show on PBS.

Why Frankel, just a rich NYC wanna be
01:49 AM on 03/11/2011
I agree about Eric.
02:39 PM on 03/11/2011
Maybe Ripert doesn't tweet enough, although I'm sure most would agree he is top notch. When it comes to Frankel, I think we should just say a resounding "no!!!!" Sad to see her get rewarded for her vapid and indulgent narcissisim.
