whether a Christian or Muslim, budhist or Catholic, faith is not a problem, but a big plus. We must respect each other's faiths without declaring one is over the other. That has always my belief, that we are not any better depending on our religious faith or lack of it. But I can not tolerate someone pretending to be what you are not, fighting on the basis of doing something different when you are someone who is far from being different. I do not agree on dividing an entire country based on the color of someone's skin, yes, discrimination exists, it is unfortunate, but there are many types and not many people aknowledge them. I do not want a candidate who is dishonest but preaches honesty. I do not want a candidate whose supporters are incapable of accepting any criticism without writing so many indecent words against others. It worries me that as time goes by, mone things come to light that show that Obama is not the pure candidate he claimed he was.

As a member of a "sub-group," Obama came to grips with the activism of the Black Panther-style power politics. This movement was largely historical by the time that Obama was a teenager. Nor is he a "closet Muslim." These assertions tend to prove the racist attitudes and beliefs of many Americans.

Younger Americans are more multi-cultural than their counterparts in the 60's where the vast majority were still socially and politically conservative, in spite of the Hippies, the Greening of America, and the Anti-War movements.

Hillary went through the 60's and started out as a Goldwater Girl. Hillary voted for the authorization for the use of force in Iraq without reading the NIE. She was never a "women's libber."

No topic should be sacred. Old candidates have an age bias, women face gender issues, Obama faces ethnic and racial challenges.

So let's roll up our sleeves and freely discuss these important issues, as well as class issues for working people, such as the failure of wages to make any gains in the past thirty years, and the political elite who work hand-in-hand with the financial sector to promote an imperialistic foreign policy.

If we could achieve affordable health care and get out of Iraq, we would be much better off.

I shouldn't laugh, but "100 times more Muslim-y than before" is priceless.

Gee, I don't know...though it's occured to me that the fact that 88% of the population are not permitted by his supporters to say anything that could be construed as critical of him if it in any way that can be associated with the African American experience...and I kinda see why that it is...payback for the Christian enabled industrially scaled racial slavery of the last few hundred years instigated and fostered by the Moslems who for hundreds of years used Africa as its god guaranteed slave breeding farm, that still plagues us and will continue to do so until we're honest about things such as race, intelligence, gender, history and religion's negative and positive effects, equality and stuff like that. I'd love to think Barak is the bridge by which we can get over some of this difficult terraine, but the path to it is frought with landmines, some of the planted by ourown forces with the best of intentions,no doubt, because they gave us a sense of security...or retribution, but in retrospect the reasons are pure folly and based on ignorance and intellectual laziness. Loved your cartoon, by the way.

No, everybody's allowed to criticize Barack Obama. You have the right to free speech. But if you say something stupid or racist, we'll exercise our right to free speech by criticizing you for it.

Is that system unfair?

Sounds like you personally need to get over your own issues. What is the African American experience? So you think black people suffer from lack of criticism in this country?

Reminds me of the classic scene in Monty Python's Holy Grail when the villagers wanted to burn a witch. They dragged this woman in front of the local inquisitor and had a fake nose tied to her face made out of a carrot or something and when the inquisitor asked "How do you know she's a witch?", the crowd replied "She looks like one!"

It's interesting that the other candidates are not subjected to the same comparisons as Obama!

Why do you think that would be?

Tankan:

No the other candidate Hillary has been subjected to literal tarring and feathering and being raked over the coals... and for a much longer and much more brutal period of time. I doubt Obama could stand even one quarter of what she has.

As to why I think that was?? They obviously knew Obama couldn't take the heat!

Go Hillary!
