Alex Sink is Florida's current CFO and is running against Republican Bill McCollum as the Democratic candidate for governor.

A respected leader in Florida's business community for 25 years, she entered politics in 2006 as a Democratic candidate for Chief Financial Officer. She won with a large margin and received the endorsement of nearly every major newspaper in the state.

As CFO she oversees approximately 2,000 employees and an annual budget of $200 million in the Department of Financial Services -- and uses her business experience and know-how to protect Floridian's fiscal and consumer interests.

Alex is running for governor with a plan to get Florida’s economy moving again now -- and create long-term economic prosperity well into the future. She believes in holding leaders accountable at all levels, and focusing on common-sense solutions over partisan politics.

She resides in Thonotosassa with her husband, Bill McBride. They are the proud parents of Bert, a senior and football player at Stanford University, and Lexi, a junior at Wake Forest University.
