Amal Chatterjee is a writer and teaches fiction at the University of Oxford, UK. He has published a novel, which was shortlisted for the Crossword Book Award in India , history and short stories. He has been awarded a Scottish Arts Council Writer Bursary, was shortlisted for Creative Scotland Award, was a writer in residence in Shanghai and writes occasional reviews for the Dutch newspaper Trouw. Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Amal has Indian and Sri Lankan roots and currently divides his time between Amsterdam and Oxford. He also advises the literary festival of the city of the Hague in the Netherlands and projects on writing in Scotland and India.
