Amazon Conservation Team

The Amazon Conservation Team (ACT) works in partnership with indigenous peoples of tropical America to protect the biodiversity and ecosystems of the Amazon rainforest, as well as its knowledge-rich traditional cultures. ACT was formed in 1996 by award-winning conservationists Mark Plotkin and Liliana Madrigal, and has worked with more than 30 South American tribes to date, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to monitor, sustainably manage and protect their ancestral rainforests.
