Andy Parker

Advocate for Common Sense Gun Legislation

Andy Parker is a former professional broadway actor, politician, and headhunter in the banking industry. On August 26, 2015 his life changed forever when his daughter Alison was murdered on live television in Roanoke, Virginia. While his emotions were still raw, he vowed on national television to do “whatever it takes” to end gun violence in America. The phrase turned into a national rallying cry to fight for live saving firearms policies. Since then, Andy has traveled across the country to speak on behalf of ballot initiatives and pro "gun sense" political candidates. He has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, CBS Sunday Morning, Face the Nation, ABC, NBC, the BBC and other international outlets . He regularly contributes to the Huffington Post, Newsweek, and New York Daily News and is a proud member of the National Press Club. In February 2016, he along his wife Barbara and Alison’s boyfriend Chris Hurst, created the For Alison Foundation, dedicated to create new opportunities for children in southern Virginia through the arts. www.foralison.org.
