Benjamin Orbach Founder and Director of America’s Unofficial Ambassadors

I’m the founding director of America’s Unofficial Ambassadors, an initiative that is increasing the number of Americans who volunteer in human development throughout the Muslim World and then share their experiences when they return home. Over the last few years we've sent more than 125 Americans to volunteer in nine different countries in the Muslim World, and our initiative has affected the lives of thousands of people overseas as well as raised the awareness of more than 1M people in the United States. I’m a former State Department official as well as the author of Live from Jordan (2007), a travelogue about living the American-Arab relationship 24 hours/day for a year in the wake of 9/11 and during the war with the Iraq.
