Bilal Ansari is a native of New Haven, Connecticut. Bilal hold a master of divinity equivalency from Hartford Seminary, that combines a masters of arts and graduate certificate in Islamic chaplaincy. Bilal is chaplain and Assistant Director at Williams College in Massachusetts. Bilal has over two decades of serving in religious leadership and community organizing. He has worked in these capacities for the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Prisons, the State of Connecticut Department of Correction, St. Francis Hospital of Hartford and volunteer for US Marines and US Navy in San Diego, California. Bilal was featured in a documentary in 2010 on PBS about his work in both chaplaincy and community organizing called The Calling. Bilal is blessed to be married to Colleen Keyes and the father of Qiyam, Shaheed, Sumaya and Maryam.
